Coach Blanco was a great influence on my life. I love him for what he did for me. I can’t tell you everything he did, but he made a lasting impression on me to grow up and become responsible for my actions. He told me I was too short, too fat,and too slow to play college football, but I played in every game because he gave me the drive to play bigger than my size. The motivation he gave me made me want to be a coach and help others like he helped me.

Coach Blanco got me my first coaching job in Lake Arthur with his friend Jim McNally. That started a coaching career that lasted 30 years. I can’t tell you how many times I have used the same things l learned from Coach.

Thank you Coach for being there for a young Chalmette High football player.
