NEW ORLEANS – On Oct. 3, 2007, Terry Perrin, 64, passed away at his home in New Orleans, Louisiana.

On Sunday, Oct. 28 at 3 p.m., a memorial service will be held near his family home in Henry. In memorial, his grandchildren will plant an oak tree.

Mr. Perrin was a 1960 graduate of Henry High School. He was a member of the Executive Committee of the Acadian Heritage and Cultural Museum of Erath, CODOFIL, the New Orleans Athletic Club, and the 1963 USL National Collegiate Weightlifting Team.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Lolly (Bud) and Ella Mae Broussard Perrin, and his brother, Wesley James Perrin.

He is survived by his brother, Warren A. Perrin and his wife Mary of Lafayette, his sister, Natial Perrin d’Augereau and her husband David of Abbeville, and daughters Melanie Elizabeth Perrin of Washington, D. C., Angie Perrin Comeaux and her husband Andre’ of Lafayette, and Kathleen Letia Perrin Moore and her husband Micah of Baton Rouge.

He had four grandchildren, Claire Marie Comeaux, Camille Renee’ Comeaux, Whitney Christine Moore, and Matthew Henry Moore.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the UL Ella Mae B. Perrin Memorial Scholarship Fund or the Acadian Heritage and Cultural Museum of Erath. Checks can be mailed to P. O. Box 53597, Lafayette, LA 70505.

Athletic Network Footnote: Terry was a friend and next-door neighbor in the ole Vet Village during our days at USL. Many times we played bouree for matches because we had no funds. We used to laugh at how many cracks there were in the floors of our apartments and questioned who had the most. Terry emailed me recently and we made plans to have lunch at Prejean’s Restaurant. We had a good visit when the weightlifters had their reunion and had been communicating by email since that time. I will miss my friend and pray for his soul. Peace, Ed Dugas
