Bobby Banna’s Living Memorial, Major Swindler – Baseball 1967-70 I am Major Swindler, who played baseball for USL from 1967 to 1970 and who played for Coach Banna in 1969 and 1970. I had my best two years under his guidance and direction and I appreciated everything he did for me. I enjoy our luncheons and hope we can continue gathering annually. * * * * * * * A four-year baseball letterman from 1967-1970. Was named Outstanding Player in the Gulf States Conference his senior year. Twice led the Cajun squad in batting average, hits, runs, trips, runs batted in, stolen bases, and total bases. Was drafted by the Texas Rangers and played in that organization for four years. Began a coaching career after my playing days were over that included stops at Catholic High of Baton Rouge, Central High School, Morganza High School, and Livonia High School. Won the 1986 Class A State Baseball Championship at Livonia High School. Married to the former Cyndy Conn, and have two sons, Scott (29) and Matt (27). Posted March 16, 2010.
