Obituary: Ronald Rial Nunez – April 8, 1959 – June 7, 2014

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at a 3:00 PM Service in Martin & Castille’s La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette, for Ronald Rial Nunez, age 55, who died on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at his residence in Crowley.

Reverend Steven C. LeBlanc, Pastor of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lafayette will conduct the funeral services.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 36 years, Anita Nunez; one daughter, Joanna Nunez Coles and her husband Corey J. Coles; one son, Ronald R. Nunez and his wife Chelsea R. Nunez; two grandchildren, Caitlin and Scarlett Coles and one grandchild on the way, Penelope Nunez; his father, Larry R. Nunez; one sister, Melissa Hebert and her husband Kevin Hebert; four brothers, Nick, Mark and his wife Linda, Todd and Richard Nunez; nieces and nephews, Candice Nunez, Christina Billiot and her husband David Billiot, Cody Hebert, Jared Nunez and wife Caitlin Nunez , Sarah Nunez, Sophie Hebert, Grant Hebert and Austin Hebert.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sherry R. Nunez.

Ronnie was a native of St. Bernard Parish and a resident of Crowley, Louisiana for nine years. He attended Slidell High School and played on the High School Football and Baseball teams. Ronnie was a graduate of Chalmette High School, where he played Football and participated in Track. Under the auspices of a full football scholarship, Ronnie was a graduate of USL where he played on the Ragin Cajun Football Team for four years. Prior to his retirement, he worked thirty years as a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors.

Ronnie was known as a loving husband, father, and grandfather and a loyal and devoted friend.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille’s SOUTHSIDE location on Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 9:00 AM until time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Nunez’s name to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street, Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70503.
