My oldest son went to USL, played football and followed in my footsteps, graduating as a Petroleum Engineer. He is in Houston, working for Baker and is contracted to UNOCAL and works in their facility in Sugarland. My other son works for a communication company in Corpus. The two girls are in Tennessee and New Orleans. Have been married to Carolyn Greco for almost 13 years. She got her Master’s at USL and worked for Dutch for a couple of years. I got to see him for the last time about 3 months before he passed away (we were living in Lafayette for a time after getting married). We live in Houston in the Galleria area at present. Carolyn has her own business, primarily involved in Career Development Counseling for persons that have been outplaced (layed off). She has an office in New Orleans, Lafayette and soon in Houston. She also has her language translating business, which she started in Lafayette in 1978. I am presently with ChevronTexaco involved in deepwater development (3000 to 10000 ft water) in the Gulf of Mexico, Brazil and west coast of Africa. Spent several years overseas in the “garden spots” of the world – Nigeria, Angola, India, Kuwait, Western Siberia, and a short time in Indonesia. My time in India and Kuwait was for the United Nations. Needless to say, it has been interesting.
