Rachel Ray Veillon
(October 9, 1947 – November 25, 2012)

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Riverside Church of Christ for Rachel Ray Veillon, 65, who passed away on November 25, 2012.

Reverend Lance Bennett, Pastor of Riverside Church of Christ, will conduct the funeral services.

Burial will take place in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Eunice, LA

Mr. Veillon, a resident of Youngsville, LA, was the son of the late Whitney Joseph Veillon of Basile, Louisiana and the former Mary Vige’ of Oil City, Louisiana. He was the Director of Information Management at U.L.L. Foundation and he was a USTA Tennis Official.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Lea Thibodeaux Veillon, of Youngsville, LA; his daughters, Christina Michelle Veillon, Rachel V. Manuel, Tiffany Thibodeaux Ashford, Christina Hope Thibodeaux; his sons, Whitney Dale Veillon, David Scott Thibodeaux; his grandchildren, Cody Blake Leger, Abrial Leger, Adian Ray Manuel, Hunter, Kaitlynn, Holden, Hudson,Thomas, Jessie-Lynn Ashford, Monica Reyes, Colby and Addie Thibodeaux; his great grandaughter, Jaslynn Reyes; his sisters, Bonnie Veillon, Madonna Comeaux, Gwen Fruge, Faye Veillon, BeverlyBuckles, Barbara Sahara and Mary Thibodeaux; his brothers, Kevin, Roger, and Joel Veillon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Whitney Joseph Veillon,Jr., and his sister, Karen Veillon.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm Wednesday evening in the funeral home. Visitation will continue Thursday from 8:00 am until time of service.

Pallbearers will be Kevin, Joel and Jeremey Veillon, Garret Comeaux, Ed Brawner and Scott Fruge’. Honorary pallbearers will be Colby Thibodeaux, Hunter and Holden Ashford and Cody Blake Leger.
