Obituary:

PATRICIA “PATTY” BARNES, 84, passed away July 26, 2006. She was born in Iota, Louisiana on February 16, 1922 to parents, Pierre and Lydia Menou. She graduated from the University of Louisiana in Lafayette where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics and also held a Teacher’s Certificate. Patty came to Houston, during wartime, on vacation was offered a position as a chemist with Saybolt Petroleum Laboratories, which she accepted. Later, she was employed by the Humble Oil & Refining Co. (Exxon Mobil). She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority and the Women’s Club of Houston. On September 29, 1949, Patty and Willis L. Barnes were married. During their entire married life they enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and England and meeting many interesting people. She is survived by husband, Willis L. Barnes; daughter, Lisa Barnes Fogle and husband Tommy; step-granddaughter, Courtney Fogle. Pallbearers will be Tommy R. Fogle, Jack Holle, Joseph W. Royce, William Allen, Tim Brady and Judge James E. Anderson. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 31, 2006 in the Sanctuary of Chapelwood United Methodist Church, 1140 Greenbay, Houston with Dr. Jim Jackson officiating.
