Norbert Robert “Coach Bob” Morgan, Jr. passed away Friday morning, April 28, 2008

My Uncle, “Bob” Norbert Robert Morgan, Jr. passed away and he was part of USL baseball in the early ’60s.
In fact, you have a photo on your website that he’s in.

Norbert Robert “Coach Bob” Morgan

“Coach Bob” Morgan died Friday morning, April 18, 2008, at Ochsner Medical Center after a long struggle with chronic illnesses. Loving husband, father and grandfather, he was the founder and director of Bob Morgan Athletics; he dedicated his life to developing healthy, confident children through sports in Lafayette and in Baton Rouge. A native of New Orleans, Bob loved golf, fishing, crawfish, the Grand Hotel, the History Channel and Jesuit High School. He was a passionate American, a former Marine, an alumni of USL in Lafayette, an enthusiastic but terrible dancer and a teacher above all. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Guillet Morgan; two daughters, Margaret Morgan and Marelle Morgan; three sons, Michael Morgan, Mark Morgan and Daniel Froeba; and five grandchildren, Marcus, Alex, Kaleigh, Hunter and Colton. His pride in and love for his family had no limits, and he extended those feelings to his close associate, Randy Maum, and his family. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East is scheduled for Sunday, April 20, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 12:30 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Jerry Martin.

“Go rest high on that mountain. We know your work on earth is done. Go to heaven a-shouting, love for the Father and the Son.”
