Home Phone: 404-664-6762 Analise Zaunbrecher Named UL Outstanding Scholar for 2004 February 24, 2005 – M. Analise Zaunbrecher, of Saranac Lake, NY, graduated December 18th summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology. She finished her academic career at ULL this fall as Valedictorian with a perfect 4.0 GPA and was named University of Louisiana �Lafayette’s Outstanding Scholar for 2004, and also received the ULL College of Sciences Outstanding Scholar Award. While attending ULL, Analise was a three-sport athlete, competing on the cross-country, and indoor and outdoor track teams. She was ULL’s Female Student Athlete of the Year in 2001. She attended the NCAA Cross Country Regional meet four times. She currently holds four school records at ULL, three relay records and one individual record: Mile Run: 5:05.83 Zaunbrecher was a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Alpha Lambda Delta, and Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Societies and served as a ULL Honor’s Board Senior Representative for the ULL Honor’s Program in 2003-2004. Zaunbrecher is currently pursuing a PhD in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics at Emory Unversity in Atlanta, GA with a full scholarship. She plans to work on novel vaccine development and on improving diagnostic procedures for infectious diseases. (Manuscript requested by the Athletic Network)
