Lori Morris enters her first season as an assistant
women�s basketball coach for Louisiana�s Ragin� Cajuns.
Morris joins the Cajuns with over 20-years of coaching
experience. Morris� primary responsibilities will include
academics, team travel and defense, as well as, recruiting.
Most recently, Morris served as the head women�s
basketball coach Southwestern Junior College. She
helped Southwestern Junior College to the Southbay
Championship in 2007, earning California Interscholastic
Federation Coach of the Year accolades. Southwestern
finished as the California Interscholastic Federation Division
two runner-ups.
While at Southwestern Junior College, Morris was
responsible for conditioning, weights, study hall, grade
checks and player development. In addition, she was
responsible for breaking down film and scouting. Morris
taught Basketball Theory, Basketball Activity, Film and
Intercollegiate Basketball at SWJC.
She was involved with the community and opened a
basketball player development class to high school players,
along with, mini-clinics to local high school teams.

Prior to her stint at Southwestern Junior College, Morris
spent 20 years as the head coach of the Montgomery
High School girl�s basketball team from 1987-07. Before
assuming the head coaching position, she served as the
MHS assistant coach during the 1986-87 season.
While at Montgomery High School, she was named the
2006 High School Sports Association Head Coach�s Award.
She helped MHS to the Mesa League Championships in
2002 and 2005 and Metro League Championships in 1990,
1995, 1996 and 1997. Morris was the CIF Female Coach of
the Year in 1998.
Morris developed 18 players who went on to play at
either the junior college or university level using basketball
as a vehicle to continue their education.
Morris received her bachelor�s degree in language
arts from University of San Diego in 1984. She earned
her master�s degree in education with an emphasis in
administration from Azusa Pacific University in 1990.
