Lloyd Domingue

SCOTT – Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at a 12:00 Noon Mass of Christian Burial in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott for Lloyd Domingue, 92, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at his residence in Scott.

Iterment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.

Reverend Thomas Voorhies, Pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Margaret Toups will serve as Eucharistic Minister. Giftbearers will be Rosemary Turpie, Alice Kerne, and Enola May. Karen Melancon, organist and soloist, will sing for the services.

Survivors include one son, Wayne P. Domingue and his wife, Carly Dionne Domingue of Lafayette; two sisters, Eula Richard and Mary Ann Simms; and one brother A.B. Domingue.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ena Marie Martin Domingue; his parents, Ulysse and Lucille Sonnier Domingue; one brother, Leo Domingue; and three sisters, Bella Cormier, Lena David and Eva Dell Aucoin.

Lloyd Domingue was born on May 3, 1920 in Kaplan, Louisiana. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army / Air Corps during WWII with the 8th Air Force (Fames Favored Few) and always enjoyed attending their annual reunions. A special memory he cherished was the Honor Air Flight to Washington, D.C. in September of 2007. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 9822 and the American Legion Post 69. Mr. Domingue was also a member of the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church Community where he faithfully served as an usher. Mr. Domingue was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1286 and the Holy Name Society. He was retired having owned and operated Domingue Lumber Company in Scott. He was an avid hunter and loved ULL Baseball. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother and friend who will be dearly missed.

Pallbearers will be Gerald Richard, Larry Domingue, J. Thomas Simms, III, David Simms, Russell Domingue and Alvin Domingue. Honorary pallbearers will be Louis Allen Cormier, A.B. Domingue and Sts. Peter & Paul Ushers.

A Rosary will be recited on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille’s SCOTT Location.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of services.

A heartfelt appreciation is extended from the family to Grace Richard and the staff of Synergy Health Care for their kindness, compassion and special care.
