I ran the 100 & 400 meter hurdles, 4×100 and 4×400 meter relays. I held the 60 meter hurdle indoor record for one year at McNeese University and was a member of the first female track team at USL and the first out of state female member. I am a member of the 1987 women’s sprint medley relay team that currently holds the school record.

I have three beautiful daughters, Ryann, Meagan, and Sydney. Ryann attended the University of Florida, Meagan attended Florida A&M University, and Sydney attended Louisiana State University. I have three wonderful step children, Joshua, April, and Amanda. Joshua lives in Boston, MA., April attended the University of Louisville, and Amanda attended George Mason University.

I am a retired Marine Corps Officer (Chief Warrant Officer 5). I retired on 1 June 2015 and served in the Marine Corps for 26 years. I was an alternate member on the All Marine track team in 1991.

I have a loving and wonderful husband, Scott Francois, who is also a retired Marine Corps Officer (Major) and we have been married since 2007.

CWO5 Kimberly J. Francois

CWO5 Francois was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She enlisted in the Marine Corps during December 1988, completed recruit training at Parris Island, South Carolina as a member of 4th Recruit Training Battalion on 11 August 1989 and was promoted to Private First Class upon graduation. She was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal in November of 1989 and attended the Basic Administration course at the Personnel Administration School, Marine Corps Service Support School, Camp Johnson, North Carolina during January of 1990.

CWO5 Francois reported to Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina for duty after completion of her school assignment. Her duties while stationed at MCB Camp Lejeune encompassed administrative, legal and mail clerk positions and she was promoted to Corporal in April of 1991. She was transferred in April of 1993 to Marine Wing Support Squadron 171, Marine Wing Support Group 171, 1st Marine Air Wing in Iwakuni, Japan. She was promoted to Sergeant and served as the Orders Chief for the duration of her overseas tour. CWO5 Francois then reported to MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida for duty with the Marine Corps Administrative Detachment, Headquarters, U.S. Central Command where she provided administrative support to the Commander In Chief (CINC) of the Command. While stationed at MacDill AFB, She received her Associate of Arts Degree from Hillsborough Community College in April 1996. CWO5 Francois left the Active Duty Marine community and joined the Select Marine Corps Reserve (SMCR) in September of 1996 in order to complete her Baccalaureate studies at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida.

CWO5 Francois completed numerous assignments and various Annual Training periods while serving as an administrative and legal clerk with Company B(-), 4th Amphibian Assault Battalion, 4th Marine Division. She was promoted to Staff Sergeant in January 1997 and successfully completed the SNCO Academy Career Course in June of 1997. CWO5 Francois earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of North Florida in April of 1999 and attended the Advanced Personnel Administration Course during June of 1999.

She was appointed a Warrant Officer in December of 1999 and reassigned to Headquarters Service Company, 4th Amphibious Assault Battalion, 4th Marine Division in Tampa, Florida for duty as the Personnel Officer. CWO5 Francois was accepted into the Active Reserve Program in March of 2000 and received orders to Marine Corps Reserve Command in Kansas City, Missouri. She attended the Personnel Officer Course at Camp Johnson, North Carolina while en-route to her new duty station and immediately assumed the duties as the Officer in Charge of the Drilling Reserve Section until receiving orders to attend the Warrant Officer Basic Class at The Basic School, Quantico, Virginia in February of 2001. She was promoted to CWO2 on 1 June 2001.

In June of 2002, CWO5 Francois reported to II Marine Expeditionary Force Augmentation Command (IIMACE) at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina for duty as the Personnel Officer. Additionally, she filled assignments as the Legal Officer, Adjutant, Family Readiness Officer and a member of the Reserve Committee. She was promoted to CWO3 on 1 April 2004 and transferred to Blount Island Command in Jacksonville, Florida in January of 2005 for service as the Personnel Officer.

After successfully completing her assignment at Blount Island Command, CWO4 Francois reported to Headquarters, Marine Aircraft Group (MAG) 46, 4th Marine Air Wing at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, San Diego, California. While at Miramar she assisted in the decommissioning of MAG 46 and helped establish the 4th Marine Air Wing Site Support Command. She was promoted to her present rank on 1 October 2008 and subsequently transferred to her current assignment as the Personnel Officer, 6th Engineer Support Battalion, Portland, Oregon during July of 2010.

In July 2012, she was promoted to CWO5 and transferred to Marine Forces Reserve Command, New Orleans, La. as the Director Personnel Administration Center where she retired on 1 June 2015.

CWO5 Francois has continued her pursuit of education and has been awarded a Masters of Business, Human Resources Management, University of Phoenix (2006); Masters of Science, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, University of Phoenix (2011) and Ph.D on Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Phoenix. Her personal decorations include the Legion of Meritz Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with 2 gold stars in lieu of third award.

She is married to Major Scott Francois, USMC (RET) and has three children.
