Head Athletic Trainer 1970-76.

James “Jim” Pippin, 59, an athletic trainer for Paschal High School, lost his short battle with cancer Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, in Greenwood Chapel. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Funeral Home.

James “Jim” Pippin was born April 11, 1947, in Fort Worth. He graduated from Haltom High School in 1965, Cisco Junior College in 1967 and the University of Texas at Austin in 1970. He married Marcia Wende on Aug. 10, 1968. Jim had been the athletic trainer for Paschal since 1998. He had worked with the Fort Worth ISD for over 30 years. He was a part of the 1969 national championship team at UT; trainer for the USL Ragin’ Cajuns; member of the South West and National Athletic Trainers associations, American Red Cross, Justin Healers and Mesquite Rodeo teams; traveled with Olympic sporting teams; and recently started his own massage business, JAMES, where he could focus on equine work.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, James; and brother, Donnie Pippin.

Survivors: Wife, Marcia Wende Pippin; sons, Derek Pippin and wife, Beth, and Cade Pippin and wife, Terri; daughter, Wende Boyd and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Katy, Lané McKenzie, Austin, Chandler, Landen and Grant Pippin and Amy Landers; one great-grandchild on the way; mother, Gertrude Pippin; sisters, Peg Faidley and Gladys Jenkins; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
