I enlisted in 1942, active duty as a Naval Aviation Cadet began in 1943, I was commissioned in 1945 and subsequently served as a Naval Aviator for the rest of my years. I have retired three times, from the Navy, from American Airlines and from cattle farming.

Enlisted in Naval Aviation cadet program in 1942. Flew dive bombers in the western Pacific.Served four years active duty, sixteen years in the active reserve, retired with twenty years total service with the rank of Commander. Last duty was as a squadron commanding officer.

Injured in 1941, played some in 1942 but failed to letter. Served as a Naval Aviator until 1947. Graduated from U.of Denver in 1950, Flew for American Airlines from 1951 to retirement in 1983. Retired from the Naval Reserve with 20 years service. I have lived in TN since 1951, helped raise 4 fine youngsters, all of whom still live in the area with their families.
