BarrilleauxLAFAYETTE – Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015, at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Edmond Catholic Church in Lafayette for Charlene Dupre Barrilleaux, 67, who died on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Lafayette General Medical Center surrounded by her family.Entombment will be in Fountain Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.Reverend Gilbert Dutel, Pastor of St. Edmond Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Deacon Douglas Hebert will assist in the Mass. Lectors will be Mitzi Perkins and Wendy Monte’. Giftbearers will be her grandchildren. Musical selections will be “Be Not Afraid”, “My Shepherd is the Lord”, “On Eagles’ Wings”, “Hail Mary, Gentle Woman”, and “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 48 years, James “Jimmy” Barrilleaux; her daughter, Missy Hall and husband Barry; her son, Blaine Barrilleaux and wife Tiffani; her sisters, Beverly “Woogie” Concienne, Gayle Louviere and Dolores Hebert; and her six grandchildren, Brittnie Hall, Lacey Hall, Hunter Hall, Lindsay Barrilleaux, Katy Barrilleaux and Emily Barrilleaux.She was preceded in death by her parents, Ferdinand and Thelma Dupre.A native of Franklin and a Lafayette resident, Charlene was a graduate of St. John’s Academy in Franklin. She was a wonderful home maker who loved cooking, shopping, traveling and cherished spending all the time she could with her family. Charlene left this message in her own words: ” I want to be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. I married my high school sweetheart. He was always there for me when I needed. He was my nurse, cook, maid and driver. I gratefully thank him for that. They were used for transplantation, and now others can see. This is an overview of the letter, where William Buras, the Executive Director, points out that this donation will allow for Charlene to live on in these people and well as in the hearts of those who loved her most.
