Bobby Banna’s Living Memorial, Jack Bonin – Baseball 1971

I am writing this story about Coach Banna to reflect on the type of man he was to his players.

I had to ask him to miss baseball practice one day so I could look for a summer job. My Father had died and I had to help my Mom with expenses.

I was very nervous about approaching him. Once I asked him, he looked me in the eyes and said “you take as much time as you need. And, you let me know if you need help”. I was 18 years old. That meant quite a bit to me; and still does.
