HOUSTON – Gary O’Quinn passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2012. Gary was born in Beaumont, Texas on February 4, 1938. He was preceded in death by his parents A.B. O’Quinn and Irene Nobles O’Quinn and his sister Bebe Wilder.

He graduated from Beaumont High School in 1955 and attended Southwestern Louisiana Institute (now University of Louisiana, Lafayette) on a football scholarship, graduating with a degree in Petroleum Engineering in 1959.

Gary truly enjoyed his career as a Petroleum Engineer for over 44 years.

He was a man who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, including gardening, sports, country and western music, barbeque and ice cream. In his younger days, he was an avid hunter and enjoyed fellowship with his hunting buddies. He was a great listener but also a great storyteller.

Gary was a member of Terra Verde Community Church and as a Christian was in awe of God and all of His creations. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and took great delight in watching his grandchildren play, laugh, grow and mature.
