I served as assistant track coach under the late great Charles Lancon from 1992-1995. I left USL in 1995 to accept a position as Jumps and Multievents Coach at LSU.

I have coached 19 national champions, the first being Ndaba Mdhlongwa of USL in 1995. I have been a part of 12 NCAA championship teams.

I was named the Mondo National Assistant Coach of the Year for men’s jumps and multi-events in 2004 after having three athletes win individual NCAA titles and 12 All-America honors during the 2004 season.

I coached John Moffitt to become the first athlete in LSU history to sweep the men’s NCAA long jump titles, claiming the 2004 outdoor crown on the final jump of the event.

During the indoor season, I coached an unprecedented 1-2-3 finish in the triple jump. The 24 combined points earned by champion LeJuan Simon, runner-up Moffitt and third-place finisher Willie Bradley spearheaded the Tigers to the NCAA Indoor title in March of 2004.

I was also selected Mondo Women’s National Assistant Coach of the Year in 2007.

I have coachedseveral Olympians and international competitors, including coaching John Moffit to a Silver Medal in the long jump at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, and Walter Davis to Gold Medals in the triple jump in the world championships in Helsinki and Moscow in 2005 and 2006.

I also do much consulting and speaking in the areas of biomechanics and speed/power development. I also did much work in the area of Coaching Education for USATF, including two terms as national chair of the Coaching Education Committee.

I have served as Jumps and Multievent Coach for the Team USA Delegation to the Pan Am Games in Santo Domingo in 2003, the World Junior Champioships in Beijing in 2006, and the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008.

I retired from LSU in 2007, and currently do much local and international consulting in Track and speed and power development, as well as limited track coaching. I also manage the Coaching Education program for the USTFCCCA.
