Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers. Reverend Michael J. Russo, pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic conducted the funeral service. Interment was in Lafayette Memorial Park.

Mr. Sterling, a Duson native and Lafayette resident, was the son of the late Rene Sterling and the former Maydel Mouton. An Air Force Veteran, he was an SLI track star from 1936 to 1939.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Lorainne P. Sterling.

His favorite past time was fishing.
