This is the second NFCA All-South Region honor for Tankersley, as she garnered the award in her freshman year in 2004. The junior designated player leads the team in virtually every offensive category. Tankersley, a USA Softball Top 25 Finalist for Player of the Year, leads the team in batting average (.405), home runs (18), RBI (61), slugging percentage (.746) and on-base percentage (.517). Tankersley is currently third all-time in UL history with 48 career home runs, 111 walks and 24 hit-by-pitches. She has also compiled a 12-5 record in the pitching circle for the Cajuns in 2007. Tankersley was named a finalist for the 2007 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Award the Amateur Softball Association, the National Governing Body of Softball in the United States. This award, which is considered one of the most prestigious honors in women’s collegiate softball, is designed to recognize outstanding athletic achievement by female collegiate softball players across the country and the Kirbyville, Texas native has done just that.
