CROWLEY – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. December 23, 2015 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley, LA for Gerald Matthew “Coach” Dill, Sr., 85, who died December 21, 2015 at the Heart Hospital of Lafayette.

Fr. Mikel Polson, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum in Crowley, LA

He is survived by his wife, Norma Authement Dill of Crowley; five daughters, Donna D. Hoffpauir and her husband, Robert of Crowley, Judy D. Guillot and her husband, Reece of Crowley, Joan D. Kirsh and her husband Greg of Lafayette, Anne Dill of Crowley, and Linda D. Lawson and her husband, Lee of Crowley; two sons, Gerald M. Dill, Jr. and his wife, Jan of St. Louis, MO, and James M. “Jim” Dill and his wife of Colleen of Lafayette; one sister, Eliska D. Pollock of Harrison, AR; twenty-one grandchildren; and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.

Coach Dill is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Hilda LeBlanc Dill, Sr.; and one brother, Louis Dill, Jr.

The family would like to thank all of those who he coached and allowed him to live his love of the game through them. The family would also like to thank the staff of the Heart Hospital of Lafayette for their valued efforts, Dr. Karrie Kilgore and the Emergency Staff of Acadia General Hospital.

In Lieu of Flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Catholic School, Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish, and/or the Catholic School of your Choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley.
