Obituary:

NAGS HEAD, N.C. – Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. Nags Head, North Carolina, for Edward Ray McCauley, 77, who died at 2 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at his home in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina surrounded by his family.

A private interment will take place on Monday, March 8, 2010, at Quantico National Cemetery in Triangle, VA.

Mr. McCauley was born in Jennings, LA, and was a resident of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina for the last 10 years.

He was the son of the late Pearl Reddell McCauley and Eddie J. McCauley.

Eddie was a graduate of Lafayette High School in 1951 and UL (then SLI) in 1955. He taught and coached in Morgan City, LA for one year before joining the United States Air Force, where he served for four years. While in France during his military duty, he met and married the love of his life, Andree Jacqueline Gipouloux. He then came back to the states where he worked for the Defense Dept. in Washington DC. Upon his retirement in 2002, he moved to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, where he lived until the time of his death.

Survivors include two sons, Michel and his wife Patty, and Edward Robert, both of Nags Head, N.C.; one grandaughter, Valerie, of San Francisco, Calif; two grandsons, Rocco and Billy, of Nags Head, N.C.; one brother, Ronald L. McCauley and his wife, Sandy, of Lafayette; and one sister, Patricia McCauley Peacher, of Cypress, Texas; along with several neices and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline; mother, Pearl; father, Eddie; and a brother, Richard Jeff McCauley.

The family requests that any donations be in Mr. McCauley’s memory be made to hospice of your choice.
