Posted by Dr. Ed Dugas on Oct. 1, 2017. Married Ann Gibson (SLI, 1959) in 1958. Three children: Rebecca, Cynthia, and Trey. Six grandchildren. I graduated from Shongaloo High School, Shongaloo, La. in l954 and was encouraged to attend SLI by family friends who lived in Lafayette. I played for three years under Coach Reinhardt and for one year under Coach Shipley. After overcoming the cultural shock of Cajun country, I thoroughly enjoyed the friendly atmosphere of SLI and Lafayette. I’m very appreciative of the career preparation that I received. The discipline and sense of fairness exhibited by Coach Shipley has been a positive influence upon my career as teacher, coach and administrator.
