Obituary: Deborah Ann Garland – Sweethearts 1967-70 – August 23, 2011

Obituary Deborah Ann Garland

SHREVEPORT, LA – A Memorial Mass Service for Deborah A. Garland, 62, will be held Friday August 26th, 2011, at 2:00pm at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, officiated by Fr. Pike Thomas.

Debbie died peacefully on Tuesday, August 23rd after a long bout with illness. She was a humble, warm, and generous woman of faith who spent much of her life in the Ozark Mountains, a place that she loved. She is survived by her mother, Elliece Garland of Shreveport, LA, and her son, Jacob Smith and his wife Melissa, of Springfield, MO, along with their 4 children, Corban, Finley, Piper, and Cannon. She is also survived by her 4 siblings: Eric Garland, Cathy Sanders, Gerald Garland, and Shay Richard, as well as their beautiful families.

She was a very special person and will be greatly missed; however, she loved the Lord Jesus Christ and is now in His presence, the place where she was most excited to be. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Memory of Debbie Garland to the Ark-La-Tex Crisis Pregnancy Center, P.O. Box 5087, Shreveport, LA 71135; a ministry that Debbie was very passionate about.
