Home Phone: 216-374-2590 David Bellar Courtesy: RaginCajuns.com He will primarily be working with the throwing events, while also providing expertise in Exercise Science. Bellar is currently an assistant professor in the department of Kinesiology at Louisiana, where he primarily teaches Exercise Physiology. Bellar is also a certified coach having completed the United States of America Track & Field Level II course for the sprints, jumps, and endurance events, as well as having obtained Level III certification in the throwing events. Bellar is also certified strength and conditioning specialist. Prior to UL, Bellar was a successful coach both at the high school and collegiate levels in Ohio. Bellar was the head coach at St. Peter Chanel High School in Bedford, Ohio where he produced numerous All-State and high school All Americans and led his girl’s track and field team to an Indoor State Runner up Title. After leaving St. Peter Chanel, Bellar served as an assistant track & field coach and head cross country coach at Notre Dame College of Ohio. While coaching for Notre Dame coach Bellar’s athletes earned three NAIA All-American honors, and numerous All Conference honors. During his first season at UL Bellar tutored one individual Sun Belt Conference Champion and two Sun Belt Conference Runner-Up honors as well as coaching the Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year.
