Craig’s Living Memorial for the Coach Cole Tribute was submitted on Feb 25, 2018 and posted by Dr. Ed Dugas on Feb. 28, 2018. It is followed by information provided by Herb Stein, teammate and Craig.

I will always be indebted to Coach Cole for my education. As a skinny kid from Lafayette High, he allowed me to train with Pat Arceneaux during my senior year.

He saw enough potential to offer me a books/tuition scholarship. Without that I would not be able to attend college, which in turn meant I would not go into the Air Force as an officer. My flying career has now surpassed 50 years.

He did not always pay much attention to Joe Murry, Lou Lenfant or myself as we were pretty much our own coaches, but it was enough to let us know he was interested.

The night in Lake Charles when we had no business winning the Conference championship ranks as a never forgotten moment in my life.

Coach thanks for the memories and the wonderful life you helped me attain.
