Home Phone: -- Basketball: Ex-Cajun Williams Joins New Team July 01, 2005 – SPORTS ON THE RUN July 1, 2005 Advertiser Sports Former Louisiana Ragin’ Cajun forward Cedric Williams has transferred to Martin Methodist in Pulaski, Tenn. The 6-8 Williams helped lead the Cajuns to a 40-19 overall record in his two seasons, including appearances in the NIT and NCAA tournaments. Williams’ best season was in 2003 in which he averaged nine points and four rebounds per game. The Cajuns fell to North Carolina State in the first round of the NCAA tournament. In his freshman season, Williams averaged eight points and four rebounds as the Cajuns reached the NIT before losing to Alabama-Birmingham. Williams spent his high school days at Northshore High School in Houston. He was a three year starter while avaraging 16 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks. Williams earned All-District and All-Regoin honors and was named to the All-State second team. He was named Most Valuable Player of the Southwestern Bell All-Star ame and was a McDonalds All-American nominee.
