In another Cajun track move, assistant coach Bryan Hagopian said he has resigned his position, effective June 30. Hagopian spent one season working with pole vaulting, multi events and throws.

Before coming to UL, Hagopian spent one year as an assistant at Madison Area Memorial High in Madison, Maine. He was the track and cross country head coach for three years apiece at NCAA Division III schools College of Mount Saint Joseph and Mount Senario College and was an assistant jumper and cross country coach for two years at NCAA Division II Upper Iowa University.

“I’m looking for a head coaching job in Division II or III or NAIA,” said Hagopian, a two-time NAIA national qualifier in the marathon at Hastings (Neb.) College. “I really enjoyed my time in Division I, and I have nothing against (UL). But I feel like I will be better at a smaller college.”
