Lafayette – A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Bruce Duncan Garrett will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 1:00 PM at First Assembly of God Church located at 3555 Verot School Road in Youngsville, Louisiana.

Bruce Duncan Garrett was born in Sour Lake, Texas to the late George and Dorothy Johnston Garrett on September 5, 1951. Bruce Duncan Garrett, age 65, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Cedar Crest Memory Care in Lafayette Louisiana after a lengthy battle with Pick’s disease.

Bruce spent most of his youth in Crowley, Louisiana where he attended St. Michael’s Elementary School . He went to St. Paul’s High School in Covington, Louisiana and attended USL. Bruce loved to bass fish and play golf which made him perfect for oilfield sales. He enjoyed the life of an oilfield salesman for almost 40 years.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jan Martin Garrett; one son, Grant W. Garrett and his wife Dana of Houston, Texas; one granddaughter, Alana Grace Garrett; one sister, Sally Fogg; one brother, Donald Garrett; sister-in-law, Jamie Martin; and all his four-footed babies.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents George W. Garrett and Dorothy Johnston Garrett.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions could be made to Wild Cat Foundation or Spaynation, 1640 N. Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA 70506.
