Opelousas – A Rosary Service and Celebration of Life will be held for, Bobby Woodson, on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will pray the rosary.

Bobby, age 68, a resident of Sunset, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Lafayette General Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Bobby enjoyed traveling in his RV with his wife, Jenny, and other members of the Cruisin Cajuns RV Club. He loved spending time outdoors fishing and cheering on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren at their sporting events. Bobby was a big supporter and advocate for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He and his wife enjoyed working together on their homebased business, “Jenny’s Jigs”. Bobby was well known and never met a stranger. He always knew how to make people laugh. He will be remembered as a great husband, father, and grandfather. Bobby will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Virginia “Jenny” Woodson of Ville Platte; mother, Javalie Woodson; daughters, Shannon Bergeron (Paul), Nikki Blair (Mike), and Michelle Pesnell; step-sons, Gary Soileau (Erica), Brian Soileau (Nicole), and Ted Soileau (Simonne); step-daughter, Mandy Smith (Todd); brothers, Dennis Woodson and Terry Woodson (Mona); sister, Connie Landreneau (Guy); grandchildren, Remy, Rhett, Rowen and Rose Bergeron, Bennett, Frankie, and Levi Blair, Anna Johnston, Lane Pesnell, Travis and Mallory O’Connor, Brandon, Josh, Lance, Lauren, Emily, Ethan, Elise and Owen Soileau, Danielle Vidrine, Mason and Cameron Smith; and 6 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, Norris Woodson; and his brother, Roger “Brother” Woodson.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in memory of Bobby to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105).
