Creasy, 84, of Lake Charles will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Dr. Rod Tibbitts and Bro. Darrell Spencer. Visitation will be Thursday, September 15, from 4 until 7 p.m. and will resume on Friday from 11 a.m. until service time. Ben was born October 18, 1931 in LeCompte, Louisiana, the son of Blanche McCollough Creasy and Ben Claire “Bus†Creasy, and died September 13, 2016 at a local hospital. He spent his early years in Alexandria, Louisiana before moving to Lake Charles during high school. Ben was a proud graduate of Lake Charles High School and Southwest Louisiana Institute (present-day University of Louisiana at Lafayette), where he served as drum major. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, Ben was a long-time employee of Cities Service/Citgo and the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, Hackberry. Ben was a Thirty Third Degree Mason and Past Master of Lodge #156. Ben believed in working until Jesus came for him. At the time of his death, he was a part-time employee of the First Baptist Church Family Life Center. Ben loved his family—especially his wife of 63 years, Marlene Brame Creasy. He loved his God and the First Baptist Church of Lake Charles, where he served as an usher for over twenty years. He also loved a hearty breakfast followed by an early lunch. Those celebrating his life include his spouse Marlene, his son Robert Clifton “Cliff†Creasy and daughter-in-law Sheri of The Woodlands, Texas, and granddaughter Caitlin Alane Creasy of Houston. The family extends special thanks to Drs. Tony W. Leung and Craig V. Broussard for their compassionate care.
