S/Sgt U.S. Air Force 1950-1953

Dear Ed,

I played only in 1950, under coach Swanson. In the last game against Northwestern I tore ligaments in my knee. I enlisted in the Air Force in December 1950. I did not play when I returned to SLI in 1954, since I had the GI bill and still had knee problems. I finished in August 1956 (1957).

I worked in Southwest Louisiana for three years after graduation. I decided to go into Education and received a degree in Education., from a colloege in Illinois. I taught for 32 years and retired in 1992. While teaching in Michigan I also worked part time for a funeral home, and upon retirement from teaching I worked there full time. In total I worked 25 years at the funeral home.(1978-2003)

I have a Masters Degree from Central Michigan University.

I moved to Texas five years ago to be near grandchildren. I give talks on Children and Grief to various teachers’ groups and work with those who have experienced grief in death and divorce.

If you happen to see Peanuts, tell him hello for me.

Thanks

Andy
