Home Phone: 928-775-6771 Allison submitted Coach Girouard’s Living Memorial on March 19, 2019 and it was posted by Dr. Ed Dugas that day. When I think about people who have had a direct impact on my life and the person I am today one of the first people who come to mind is Yvette Girouard. You would think how could someone who you met when you were 17 years old define you as a person, but she did and I will be internally grateful to her for that. Girouard (I don’t think I will every be able to call her Yvette), was not only my coach, she was my mentor. For years I was a high school coach and I took what I learned from her and passed it on. Girouard took the game of softball and made it one of the biggest life lessons for US all. She was and is a true role model. She taught US the importance of hard work, on the field and in the class room. She prided herself on her players graduating, which is a testament of her priorities. Our practices, working on the field/classroom, games were all part of the process of who all of US were and became as players and people. She knew exactly what she was doing, she knew she was molding US all to be better people. When you think about the role she played in so many young lives throughout the years, it is simply amazing. I am so honored to be a small part of her coaching life, but even more grateful to still have her in my life. She came into my life as my coach, but remains in my life as a cherished friend.
