Women’s Tennis: Louisiana Drops Sunday Match at Tulane

NEW ORLEANS – The Louisiana Women’s Tennis team dropped a hard-fought match at Tulane on Sunday, falling 7-0 in New Orleans.

Even though Louisiana did not win a point, the score did not reflect the effort put into Sunday’s match. The Ragin’ Cajuns were competitive in all of their matches, especially at No. 1 singles, where Floriane Picaut fell to Tulane’s Mary Caroline Meredith, 6-4, 6-7 (8-6).

The doubles portion of the match was the same story. Although Louisiana was unable to leave with a win, the No. 3 doubles pairing of Burgersdijk/Raquin battled but eventually fell, 7-5. The Ragin’ Cajuns dropped the No. 1 doubles, 6-1, but went 6-6, UF at the No. 2 doubles position.
