In her new role, Vogt will conduct skill work with both the guards and forwards and will continue to assist with team logistics. A new Director of Basketball Operations will be named at a later date.

"We are extremely fortunate that Mary Chris has been in our program since 2015 and we know that she is ready to take on this new challenge as an assistant coach," Brodhead said. "M.C. has worked so hard to get to this position and I know that she will help us continue to take our program to new heights."

Vogt has been with the Ragin’ Cajuns since the 2015-16 season, serving as Director of Basketball Operations since her arrival. She has been an integral part of the program, managing all aspects of the team’s day-to-day operations and spearheading the team’s travel efforts, including the coordination of its trip to Cuba ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.

"I am excited and thankful that Coach Brodhead has given me an opportunity to continue to grow in a new position," Vogt said. "For five seasons I have been fortunate to watch the program reach different milestones. As an assistant coach, I am looking forward to continuing to watch this program reach new heights, while embracing a new way to make an impact."

A native of Carrollton, Texas, Vogt came to Louisiana from Texas A&M, where she worked for Hall of Fame coach Gary Blair from 2010-15. While at Texas A&M, Vogt worked as a camp coach, specializing in coaching point guards, combo guards and shooting guards. Other duties during that time frame included camp director, assistant video coordinator and recruiting.

During her time in Aggieland, she helped guide the Aggies to four NCAA Tournaments, an Elite Eight appearance, a Sweet 16 appearance and the 2013 SEC Tournament championship title.

Vogt played AAU basketball for eight years, where she ran the point guard position. She went on to star at Carrollton Newman Smith High School, earning First Team All-District honors during her senior season. Vogt’s work in the classroom was also recognized as she was named to the All-State Academic Team for Women’s Basketball during three of her years at Carrollton Newman Smith HS.

Vogt graduated from Texas A&M in 2015 with her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Sport Management and a minor in Coaching and International/Cultural Management.
