Soccer: Ragin’ Cajuns Fall At Nationally-Ranked Volunteers, 4-0Louisiana returns home to open four-match homestand

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Four players each scored goals as No. 17-ranked Tennessee broke open a 1-0 contest at the break with three goals in the second half to defeat the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Women’s Soccer team, 4-0, Sunday night at Regal Soccer Stadium. Louisiana (1-3-0), which wrapped up a three-match road swing against schools from the Southeastern Conference, managed three shots against a stout Tennessee (4-0-0) defense with Karleen Bedre and Alyssa Abbott placing shots on goal in the first half. Freshman Tatum Beck was credited with Louisiana’s attempt in the second half. Wrenne French gave the Vols a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute with her first goal of the season before Tara Katz opened the second half her first goal of the year in the 47th minute. Taylor Huff added Tennessee’s third goal early in the 63rd minute before Brooke Wilson capped off the scoring in the 76th minute with her second goal of the year. Ashley Gabor stopped two shots for Tennessee in the first half before being relieved by MacKenzie Haba in the 86th minute. Libby Harper stopped eight shots, one off her career high, for Louisiana. Jordan Higgins closed out the contest for the Ragin’ Cajuns with a save in 12 minutes of play – her first appearance since suffering a season-ending injury on Sept. 24, 2020. Louisiana will return home to open a four-match homestand beginning on Friday (Sept. 3) when it plays host to Southeastern Louisiana at the Ragin’ Cajuns Track/Soccer Facility.
