Six Louisiana Football Games Selected for National Broadcasts

Ragin’ Cajuns’ 2021 season opener at Texas to be broadcast on FOX

LAFAYETTE – Six Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Football games, including its highly-anticipated season opener at Texas, have been selected for national broadcasts during the 2021 season, the Sun Belt Conference and its television partners announced on Thursday afternoon.

The Ragin’ Cajuns and the Longhorns will open the fourth year of the Billy Napier era in millions of homes across the country on Saturday, Sept. 4, with the contest kicking off at 3:30 p.m. CT on FOX. For the second consecutive season, Louisiana will appear on national broadcast television after last year’s SERVPRO First Responder Bowl was shown on ABC.

Following its home opener against Nicholls State on Saturday, Sept. 11, which has been designated for a 7 p.m. kick time on ESPN3, Louisiana welcomes Ohio to Cajun Field on Thursday, Sept. 16. Kickoff against the Bobcats will be at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN.

Louisiana will host two more nationally televised home games during the year, taking on Appalachian State on Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPN2 and Georgia State on Thursday, Nov. 4, at 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPN. A televised road contest falls in between those two games when the Ragin’ Cajuns head to Jonesboro, Arkansas, to face Arkansas State on Thursday, Oct. 21, at 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPNU.

Louisiana Football is 100 days away from the start of the 2021 season. Fans are encouraged to secure tickets now, which includes six games at Cajun Field.
