On Jan. 26, 2021, the passing of Steve Oats resulted in the university losing a Super Baseball Fan and UL Supporter

Special acknowledgement is expressed to Sylvia Oats for her involvement and assistance and to Steve’s friends who contributed memories and photos.

The Special Fans Page identifies those persons who exemplify in the highest of standards, what it means to be a Ragin’ Cajuns fan. It is unfortunate that Steve unexpected left this world at a relatively young age, but through his Special Fans Page, hopefully his memory will live on.
