Obituary: John Hadley Dyer – Tennis 1961 – October 13, 2020

 

December 3, 1942 – October 13, 2020

Lafayette – Graveside services for John Hadley Dyer, 77, will be held Friday October 23, 2020 at 9:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Broussard, with Father Michael Delcambre officiating.

John was a native of Opelousas and a resident of Broussard. He graduated Valedictorian of AIC Opelousas and was also a member of the tennis team, he went on the graduate from USL with a Chemistry Degree and was the first freshman to join the tennis team, he also graduated from LSU with a Chemical Engineering Degree, he worked for Union Texas Petroleum in Houston Corporate Office for 20 years, and DEQ Louisiana in Baton Rouge for 20 Years, and served on the Broussard Zoning Board after retirement. John passed away Tuesday October 13, 2020 at Abrom Kaplan Hospital.

Survivors include his loving wife Charlotte Hoeffliger Dyer, two daughters Elizabeth Seeger, and Jennifer Leggett and her husband Louis; and four grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his Parents Hadley and Audrey Major Dyer; and his sister Anita Dyer.
