Obituary for Henry Leon Hebert

Henry Leon Hebert
December 11, 1932 – January 16, 2021

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 10:00 AM in St. Mary Mother of the Church, Catholic Church in Lafayette, for Henry Leon Hebert, 88, who passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille’s DOWNTOWN location on Friday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed Friday evening at 6:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Saturday at St. Mary Mother of the Church from 9:00 AM until the time of service.

Interment will be in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery.

Reverend Cedric Sonnier, Pastor of St. Mary Mother of the Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass.

Masks are REQUIRED to attend the Hebert visitations and Mass. The family thanks you kindly in advance.

Survivors include his two daughters, Paula H. Duhon (Marlon) and Julia H. Herrick (Drew); his son, Edward Paul "Eddie" Hebert (Vickie); his grandchildren, Eugenie Duhon Mitchell (Ben), Isaiah Duhon, Sara Duhon Trammell (Mike), Kaelyn Hebert Turner (Wesley), Alexandra Hebert Oehl (Mike), Madison Hebert, Heather Herrick, Derrick Herrick, and Hollie Herrick, and his great-grandchildren, Noah, Molly, Maggy, Mayme, John Forrest, Henry, Olivia, Charlotte and Juliette; his siblings, Betty Nugent, Richard Hebert (Carol), and Sandra Meyer (Emmett); and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Billie Joyce Duhon Hebert; his son, John Clifford "Cliff" Hebert; his parents, John Clerphe "Top" Hebert and Marie Lagneaux Hebert; his step-mother, Marie Eugenie "Jennie" Hebert; his infant brother, John Clerphe Hebert, Jr. and brother, Harold James "Jimmy" Hebert; and sister, Shirley Hebert Richard.

Pallbearers will be Richard Hebert, Isaiah Duhon, Mike Trammell, Mike Oehl, Wesley Turner, and Derrick Herrick.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Drew Herrick, Dale Duhon, Ben Mitchell, Marlon Duhon, Henry Oehl, Noah Trammell, and John Forrest Mitchell.

A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Hebert family to John Jefcoat for the many years of friendship and his cousin and business partner, D.J. "Bobby" Hebert.
