Men’s Tennis: Louisiana Gets First Win of Spring Season Against UTRGVEdinburg, Texas – The Louisiana Men’s Tennis team claimed its first win of the season by beating the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, 6-1, on Sunday afternoon. It was all Ragin’ Cajuns on Sunday. Excluding the victory by forfeit, Louisiana won the doubles point handily after Xandy Hammitt and Karlo Kajin beat Jankovic/Kohrs, 6-4, while Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez and Ivailo Keremedchiev were victories against Izurita/Mateo, 6-2. Louisiana only dropped one match in the singles competition with Keremedchiev, Kajin and Sanchez Gonzalez sweeping the top singles spots for the second time this season and the first since the three took down the top three at LSU. Alejo Ferrer Chueca won his second consecutive match of the weekend, beating Mateo Schmit 6-3, 6-2. Louisiana will have a long break and will face Texas A&M-CC at Cajun Courts on Feb. 12.
