LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Women’s Soccer coach Lance Key announced on Monday the addition of Christian McKenna as the team’s Chief of Staff.

McKenna, a native of Glasgow, Scotland, played in 56 matches in his four-year career at Boston’s Northeastern University, where he started in 39 matches overall from 2013-16. He played professionally in both his native Scotland (Airdrie Football Club) and Australia (FC Bulleen Lions) before returning to NU in 2019 as a business and marketing assistant.

"Christian McKenna is such a tremendous addition to our staff. He is an individual that is well experienced in the game having played collegiately at Northeastern, and also played professionally in both Australia and Scotland," said Key. "He brings a passion for the game as well as a passion to help and serve people. Whether we are recruiting student athletes and their families or potential staff members, first and foremost we are looking for exceptional human beings, and Christian absolutely fits our quest to weave integrity, honor, loyalty and respect through the fabric of this program."

McKenna was nominated to be a member of the inaugural Husky Leadership Academy which focused on developing young leaders with the NU Athletics Department.

A 2017 graduate of Northeastern, McKenna earned his Masters of Science in Sports Leadership from NU in 2021.
