NEW ORLEANS – Charlie Flynn and Peter Hinnant each picked up postseason honors as the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns duo was named to the 2021 All-Sun Belt Conference Golf team in a vote by the league’s head coaches and released by the league office on Thursday.

Flynn, a second-team selection, finished as the team leader in scoring average at 73.08 per round and produced seven top-20 finishes on the season in eight events. The sophomore recorded three top-10 performances on the course during the 2020-21 season, highlighted by fourth-place finish at Border Olympics (71-71-72-214).

His low round of the season (4-under-par 68) came in the second round of the 36th annual Louisiana Classics at Oakbourne Country Club. Flynn produced counters in 21 of 24 rounds of play on the season and finished tied for seventh at the Craft Farms Intercollegiate (73-74-69-217).

Flynn recorded a season-low, 54-hole score of 3-under 213 to finish in a tie for 11th at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic (69-74-70-213) and posted identical scores of 1-over 215 in competition at the Graeme McDowell Invitational and Little Rock Invitational.

Hinnant, a third-team selection, produced a 73.19 scoring average in nine events during the season with four top-10 finishes. The junior had three consecutive top-20 performances during the 2020-21 campaign beginning with the Bayou City Collegiate Classic and recorded a team-best six rounds in the 60’s

Hinnant tied a school-record for the lowest individual round, carding an 8-under-par 64 in the second round of the Louisiana Classics. He posted the second-lowest individual round in the tournament’s prestigious history while setting the single-season, school-record with seven eagles.

The Winston-Salem, N.C., native, finished tied for seventh overall at the Sun Belt Conference Championships (77-75-74-226) and was tied for seventh overall at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic (68-69-74-211).

Hinnant competed in all three events during the fall, posting a 72.67 scoring average in nine rounds of play.

The selection of Flynn and Hinnant to the All-SBC team marked the first time since 2014 Louisiana placed multiple players on the all-conference team.
