Football: Tennessee State Nips USL Ragin’ Cajuns 26-25 1970 Grantland Rice Bowl + more bowl history

On Dec. 12, 1970, 43 years ago last Thursday,  the Cajuns experienced their only bowl game loss. In 2011 and 2012, the team won both of the New Orleans Bowl games.

Please click here to view the story about the first bowl game, the Oil Bowl,  played in Houston on Jan. 1, 1943, which was won by the Bulldogs over Arkansas A & M, a team which had played SLI to a 20-20 deadlock earlier in the season.
