Cross Country: Louisiana Finishes First, Second at ULM Warhawk Invite

O’Boyle claims men’s 4-mile title; Women’s team claims title over host ULM

MONROE – Damian O’Boyle claimed the men’s title in the four-mile run while Rosalie Michot led a pack of four women’s runners to top-7 finishes as the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Cross Country team earned a first- and second-place finish at the ULM Warhawk Invitational on Friday at the Chennault Park Golf Course.
 
Louisiana claimed the women’s title with 25 points to finish ahead of ULM (36) in the field with Louisiana Tech sending a pair of runners, highlighted by a first-place finish by Riley Killian.
 
Michot posted a time of 20:21 to finish fourth overall and lead the Ragin’ Cajuns with Ally McCulley (20:30) finishing fifth, Kelly Goff (20:32) sixth and Meredith Hebert (20:49) seventh. Freshman Pierra Charles posted a time of 21:23 on the 5K course to finish 11th overall for Louisiana with freshman Tarryn Hill (21:30), Haley Salsbury (21:35) and Alivia Johnson (23:50) rounding out the field.
 
O’Boyle, who finished seventh in his Louisiana debut last month at the Azalea City Classic, covered the four-mile course in 20:33 to win the individual title by six seconds over Louisiana Tech’s Conner Killian. Key Alfred (20:54) finished fourth overall for the Ragin’ Cajuns with Conner Meche (21:54) finishing ninth, Rashid Reese (22:23) 11th.
 
Braden Scalisi (22:50) finished 15th overall for Louisiana with Justin Unger (22:50.5) finishing 16th and Caedmon Kyles (23:10) 18th.
 
Louisiana Tech claimed the men’s title with 23 points followed by Louisiana (39) and host ULM (79).
 
The Ragin’ Cajuns will make their final tuneup prior to Sun Belt Conference Championships on Oct. 17 when it competes in the Little Rock Open. Louisiana will then compete at the SBC Championships, scheduled for Oct. 31 at the at the Old Brookley Golf Course in Mobile, Ala.
