Women’s Tennis Rolls To 7-0 Victory Against Alcorn StateLAFAYETTE, La – The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns women’s tennis team ended its four-game skid on Tuesday as the Cajuns rolled to a 7-0 sweep of Alcorn State at Bourgeois Courts.
Louisiana (6-11) did not drop a set in the contest winning all three doubles matches and at all six lines in singles competition.
Juliette Clement and Melissa Burckhartt clinched the doubles point on court two defeating Merlin Tipp and Ekaterina Potapova 8-3 to put the Ragin’ Cajuns up 1-0.
Alexandra Way was one of three Cajuns to give just two games on the afternoon quickly putting away Anna Kazarina, 6-1, 6-1, at the No. 6 position to make the score 2-0.
Julie Cremers defeated Ekaterina Potapova 6-0, 6-2 on court two to move the Cajuns a point away from clinching, while Nicole Breaux put the game out of reach with her 6-2, 6-0 victory over Sumeera Kamil on court two.
The Ragin’ Cajuns now head on the road for four straight matches starting with South Alabama on Friday, March 28 at 2 p.m.
