LAFAYETTE-The Louisiana’s Sports Writer’s Association named their 2007 All-Louisiana Women’s Tennis team and Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns standout Myrthe Molenveld was tabbed the Freshman of the Year.
Molenveld finished the season with a 13-5 singles record and a 12-8 doubles mark.
She won 13 singles matches and 12 doubles matches, while playing in her first season with the Cajuns. Molenveld opened the season with seven straight singles wins. Molenveld won 10 of her first 11 matches.
She primarily played at No. 2 singles and was mainly the No. 2 doubles team, winning the only match she played at the No. 1 spot.
Aside from being named the Freshman of the Year, Molenveld was also a second team All-Louisiana selection.
