Women’s Tennis: Dangond Advances to Round of 16
Fort Worth, Texas- Senior Angela Dangond advanced to the Round of 16 at the Wilson/ITA Regionals in Fort Worth, Texas. She and her teammates began today at host school TCU. Dangond is the six seed in the women’s singles portion of the tournament. The winner of each regional automatically qualifies for the National Indoor Tournament Nov. 6-9 in Charlottesville, Va.
Louisiana is one of 20 teams competing at the regional in Fort Worth, Texas. In other action Mia Gordon, Milou Isreal, Marina Ruiz De Gauna and Briggitt Marcovich all advanced to the consolation portion of the tournament. The doubles teams of Dangond/Israel and Marcovich/Mazinova both advanced to the round of 32 in doubles open portion of the tournament. The Tournament resumes Friday at 9 a.m.
