Women’s Tennis: Cajuns beat Middle Tennessee, 4-3
www.ragincajuns.com – The Ragin’ Cajuns women’s tennis team knocked off Sun
Belt Conference opponent Middle Tennessee 4-3 on Friday afternoon at Cajun
Courts.
Although the Cajuns (3-6) lost the doubles point, they were able to come up
with four singles victories to capture the victory over the Blue Raiders (5-
5).
Audrey Wooland breezed past Carla Nava at the No. 1 spot 6-1, 6-3. Julie
Mazinova beat Natalie Araya 6-2, 6-3. Milou Israel knocked off Anna
Djananova 6-2, 6-2 and Mia Gordon took care of Marietta Bigus 6-0, 7-5 to
seal the victory for the Cajuns.
In doubles play it was the team of Wooland and Israel that won a doubles
match 8-4. However, they were the only team to win, so the point went to the
Blue Raiders.
The Cajuns will return to action on March 20 as they head to Northwestern
State.
