Women’s Basketball: Women’s Basketball to Host Basketball Mini Clinic

Garry Brodhead

LAFAYETTE — The Ragin’ Cajuns women’s basketball program will host a basketball clinic for the Down Syndrome Association of Acadiana this Saturday, August 29, from 1-3 p.m.

The event will be held at Bourgeois Hall at 225 Cajundome Blvd on the Louisiana campus. Participants are encouraged to wear athletic shoes or sneakers only for the event. The DSAA is accepting non-perishable food items to be donated to the local Lafayette food bank. Siblings of participants ages 12 and under are also invited to participate.

"I think having this clinic helps our program build relationships and new friendships with the special needs kids of Acadiana," Ragin’ Cajuns head coach Garry Brodhead said. "As a representative of the university, we want to give back time to spend with these kids and share the game of basketball with them. It brings joy to us to give to those in need and is a win-win for our program to give back."

Interested parties should RSVP to Brandy Gerard by sending an email to dsaa@dsaa.info or calling 337-852-2321.
